Eating: Vegetarianism

The fact is that there are parts of the world that in order to survive, one needs to eat meat.

Being a vegetarian, at least in the U.S.A., is a choice and we are priveleged to be able to make that choice.

I highly doubt that "no one will eat meat" in a few generations.
That's like saying there will be no more wars either.

I have to eat meat every day else I am cranky and feel not-so-good.

Maybe I have some kind of medical problem? Who knows. But when I start the day off with a couple of eggs, I feel great. A professor of mine thinks it has something to do with my blood type.

Being a vegetarian is NOT CRAP as long as you realize that it's a choice that you make for yourself alone. I hate it when vegetarians or vegans get snooty about their dietary lifestyles.

What you do or do not put into your body is of no interest to me. Unless it's my cock.

It's not that some of us omnivore's have a problem with vegetarians as such, only a certain kind of vegetarian: those who take some imaginary higher moral ground. I went to uni and it so happened the group I felt most at home with were mostly vegetarian to vegan. One or two of them began to get evangelical and judgemental about it which was awful and completely irrational. There was a religiousness about them I found as hard to take as spending time with born again xtians. However, I must reinforce the point that my best friend was a vegetarian and was not preachy at all and are still in contact after many years.

Any vegetarian who thinks us meateaters should feel gulity is part of the problem. No were just pissed at the holy than thou attitude of some vegetarians. I love a juicy medium rare steak and feel no guilt at all.

Suggesting that there is one or another "natural" diet for people is absurd. There are thriving populations of humans who eat nothing but whale fat and fish, blood, milk and cassava, tapioca starch, leaves and pond scum...

People can survive on fuck near anything. We are bipedal pigeons. There is no One True Original Diet. If you want to optimize your diet for one thing or another -- low fecal mass, longevity, weight gain, peace of mind, religious conformity, methane production or what have you, then you are doing so by choice, not because you "ought to."

As Zom said, having the luxury of a choice is enough to be grateful for, and no reason to sneer at other people. Eat whatever you like. I have an adventurous palate, and I like eating a huge variety of things. I feel no guilt about eating animals, and I wouldn't expect animals to blanch at eating me. I also totally understand why someone wouldn't want to eat dead animals. Not a big deal.
