Don't hold back noodles, tell us what you really think.
I've been thinking about paying for the upgrade from 1.5 to 2.0 so to just ask more questions: what is it about 2.0 that makes it the steaming pile?
I have Audition on a laptop and use it for editing while mobile, and I've never had a problem with Audition, just slow as hell laptop drives.
It has a rediculous, clunky interface that takes 3 times as long to load and redraw so your wasting half your resources to start with. It was also released long before it should have been and is full of glitches, crashes and general hardware incompatibility (it doesn't work with Edirol Firewire interfaces FFS!). I also got some really poor latency readings from it
compared to 1.5
Iirc they have re-mapped some of the keyboard shortcuts too, as in swapped them around from where they have been for about 5 versions. Not the end of the world but really, that is just really poor interface design. If I wanted to remap the keys, that is my choice, not adobe's.
They can work out the bugs eventually but the interface and general clunkyness isn't so easy to get round. Unless your really desperate to be able to use the spectral 'drawing' mode, I just can't see how it is worth the money if you already have 1.5
I'm interested to see how it ports to universal binary as I haven't found a decent mac editor that isn't a million pounds (logic, final cut) or doesn't lack a load of features. If they ditch the scripting I'll be pissed.
