so, i posted recently about tour help for my band, both on this forum and a few others (that will remain nameless) and they have all just been ridiculously rude for no reason. what the fuck? the electrical board provided prompt, helpful replies that were courteous with no bullshit smartasserry, but all the others acted like twelve year old jerks?

what is it about the EA board that makes it nicer? i bet it's kerble.

I think the Premier Rock Forum is singularly qualified to understand the awesome that is implicit in a band called "Tremendous Fucking." That's just a guess though.

I don't understand people that use the internet to be complete asshats. Anonymity seems to turn quite normal, personable folk into cretins with no sense of basic human decency. I admit I'm still a relative newcomer into the world of internets but to me I always saw it as an unparalleled opportunity to communicate with people I would otherwise not be able to. My life is stressful enough without having a moron on the other side of the world chastise me due to some perverse variation of alpha male syndrome.

Thank the stars there are still some places where good grace prevails.

I think this forum is friendlier because people can articulate and offer advice and actual opinions with substance rather than use it as a place to test their smart ass comments. Plus "fan boy/girl"-dom is kept to a minimum.

I've learned more from lurking the Tech Forum on this board than I have from any other board or any discussion I've ever had.

Maybe the sound of certain bands goes over better on certain forums? I've posted for show help on a few boards too, and while no one on electrical was rude I just don't think we are really their speed. Where as other boards have been more receptive.

Your explanation seems entirely correct to me... if humans were completely rational.

Thankfully, most people here are. Most other places, I'd guess, are filled with people who take it in the ass all day [not in the good way] and somehow subconsciously decide to flame total strangers on the internets. It has brought us together: It's brought our brutal nature closer to one another.

Ain't life grand?
Our band.
