15kerble has every right to bitch. he comes accross as a half way decent person. he only screws with people who know that he's joking. unlike myself, he has tact 80% of the time. he has always not acted like a dick and therefore deserves to be treated that way. me on the other hand, i'm anass and i think we all know that. kerble deserves no bullshit sent his way.
Better yet, eat the placenta!!!

16i dunno angry_dragon, that time where that one band's van broke down and faiz drove a long distance with his own van to go help them out, that was a pretty asshole thing of him to do, don't you think?

And there could be a thousand different opinions about where that line is crossed. That's what keeps the coals burning on any discussion forum, dissent. If the dissent has mutated into the airing of personal grudges, then that should be resolved off the board. Both Faiz and Larkin post their e-mail addresses. If either party insists on dragging the battle back in here, then the moderator should deal with it.

People make a lot of personal sacrifices for their creative outlets and that is something I respect even if I don't enjoy the music.
Faiz
I don't know how you could not care what people think of your projects. I don't believe that, but I have no interest in challenging your assertion.
Maybe the hot potato here is the idea that bands deserve defense based upon their level of personal sacrifice or their hard work or their support for the "scene".
Yes, it's not easy to bring the rock.
If you work hard to bring rock I dislike, am I obligated to defend it, or at least resist the urge to criticize it? In effect, should I lie?
I think that once you judge music on anything other than what leaves the speakers on your stereo, you have muddied your viewpoint. I don't enjoy Shellac because of Albini's Albininess, or Fugazi because of Ian's cheap ticket price policy. I enjoy them because they rock.
Some other fine people, right here in Chicago for example, make music that causes me endless misery upon hearing it. If asked, I'll say it sucks. I prefer not to be asked. I like good people. I wish all the good people in bands made music equal to their sunny dispositions and DIY ethics.
