My Dad is a frequent listener of Rush Limbaugh. He's a very conservative fellow, but not in an overbearing, pushy way. We've often had the discussion about Rush Limbaugh, and although we agree on very little in terms of political issues, we do agree that Rush Limbaugh is a FUCKING MORON.

I used to think most of it was for show...no one could be that dumb. Then he and Sean Hannity both become these spokespeople for the far-right, along with that third fucking moron Anne Coulter, proved to me that they are indeed that idiotic, they are indeed that convinced that Anerica is doomed because of Bono rather than Bush, and they are indeed quickly moving to the top of the list of people I would support the public execution of with chainsaws.

Best Rush moment: when that fat fucking junky came out with his attacks on rehabilitation programs for basically everybody, and said drugs were a crutch and prescription drugs were especially foolish to grow dependent on. Then that asshole got himself a nice big bottle of OxyContin and spent a while in rehab afterwards. They should have made him "walk it off" as he suggested to other addicts.

Bet he was a real hit at Betty Ford, or its redneck right-wing equivalent, the John Wayne Center for Not Being Like Those Fuckin' Injuns and Their Stink Stick.

Ad-hominem attacks aside (I myself am a fat-ass and have done many many drugs), Thrush Limburger is a media tool. Granted, most of the opinions he projects are also his own, but I think that when one puts onesself in the position that he is in, one's cognitive rationale takes a back seat to party politics and sponsor dogma. I would be more inclined to listen to him if he were some guy at the bar, or anyone I could actually have an arguement with. As he is, he's about as real as Father Brian O'Blivion from VIDEODROME.

The fading phenomenon of Rush Rooms still gives me a chuckle. There was one downstate from me in a Mr. Bagel shop, regurgitating video footage 24-7 while people bought their boiled dough rings. I doubt many Jews shopped there more than once.

I work in radio, so to listen to someone slowly go deaf because of drug abuse is very very entertaining, esp when it's Rush.

The man himself is loathsome. The show is terrible - it's not tight, it rambles on and on, and the phone drivers are just flat out stupid. The only reason why he's got a show is he appeals directly to people who only have feeling about politics (etc), not any manner of fact. He appeals to the lowest tenets of Christianity and Democracy - those particularly well suited to greedy consumers.

Odd that such public figures are themselves in the business of promoting their political opinions, and they only seem to mind it when public figures disagree with them on the left.

Rush is part of a disinformation campaign waged against science, reason and rationality by right wing idealouges who place more stock in faith over fact. Faith in god, faith in ideas proven wrong, faith in failed leaders. His purpose is to distort and deny facts. Any reasonable and rational person can see that he is full of shit and only parades his bigotry around to enrich himself.

The difference between him and his fans is that while they may truly believe in something no matter how contradictory the evidence might be, Rush is a cash nihilist who believes in nothing other then money.
