A promising start, but the lad will have to knuckle down and really apply himself if he wants to be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Lee Bowyer and John Hartson. As a City fan, I had high hopes for Joey Barton, but rather worryingly he looks as if he might not have what it takes to push on through and achieve true lasting cuntdom.
You would think with Paul Dickov around as a mentor that Barton's rise to the cunt elite would be rapid, but he does seem to have hit a rather quiet patch lately. Still, putting his cigar out in a teammates eye. That was classy.
I have no worries about Bellamy achieving lasting cuntdom. I mean, he's not even at Blackburn around mega-cunt Robbie Savage anymore, and yet still, in a Liverpool team that is mostly devoid of aggravating personalities, he is still managing to thrive.
As for Man City's fortunes this season, it's too bad. I like Pearce, I like City, but a lack of goals is killing you. Bring back the Goat!!! (Ok, well don't, because he's 37 now, but really... Corradi is not the answer, and Samaras needs a year or two more to grow.) Will be interesting to see how Mpenza works out.

While I completely agree that Liverpool were unlucky, as much as it pains me to admit it, Bellamy was offside. He wasn't when the ball was played in, but it came off Sissoko's head just as the Manure defense had put him slightly offside. It was close, and perhaps Bellamy should have received the benefit of the doubt, but having looked at it (several times) I think the linesmen got it right (though probably on accident.)
It was an absolute kick in the teeth to lose like that though. I had been watching the game by myself, then my girlfriend came home and started blathering away just as O'Shea scored. For some reason, I blame her...
Kuyt is going to be absolute quality (he already is) but I am really not so enthused about Voronin coming on board. Rafa hated Cisse, but despite the lad being dumber than a bag of hammers (and worryingly prone to breaking his leg?) he delivered goals. A bit worried about how Rafa is going to fit Sissoko, Alonso, Mascherano, and Gerrard all into the same midfield - not to mention wingers Pennant and Gonzalez (or whoever he decides to buy in the future to feed balls to the non-heading giant that is Crouch). I hope someone is foolish enough to buy Kewell. He'll never be fit again. Zenden should never have been purchased.
Sorry for rambling...
