For guitar, I use D'Addario EXL115W's. I tried an assload of strings over the years, and these (11's with the wound G string) are by far my favorites. And I haven't had problems with sustain or harmonics or excessive breaking or whatnot. But I think I already said that in one of the threads about what kinda strings do people use, from the kerbling that took place a few posts back.

DR are good.

I like GHS too.

yeah this happend to my high e string. Put it on, wound it and and Bam! the string slid right off the ball. It's replacement kept on slipping as well.

That's why you dudes HAVE to try Floyd Roses. They're the real killer diller !

i used to play 10-46 d'addarios, and they were cheaper and better sounding then DR Titefits or something I tried once or twice when local store was out of D'As. no ball fall offs or something; though one string may break in a week or two. as to DRs, to me there was absolutely nothing to write home about.
btw, i tried EB Slinkies 10-52 recently and i like them a lot

That's what I use.

In the UK, there's a company called stringbusters. They are an online string/accessories retailer. Very cheap, and great service (next day delivery if you order before 3pm). I get my strings from there.

I used to use Dean Markley Custom Lite. Never had any problems with these strings, they would keep their bright tone for a long time & I'd hardly ever break one. Shops in the UK seemed to stop stocking them though & when I did come across them they'd hardly ever have Custom Lites. I think they changed their packaging & have started calling them "Signature series". So last few times I've bought stings it's been D'addarios - they've been OK, but I've broken more.

I might go back to Dean Markley & use stringbusters mentioned above, cos they carry them & at a pretty good price.

Has anyone tried Pyramid flat wounds? They just started selling them at this vintage guitar store by my house. Is it just another useless cash grab for "tone purists"?

I use the Power Slinkies 11 - 48 set, and it works fine for me. I think I might try those DR strings and A/B them.
take it from me, a guy whos had mouth sores, a mouth full of sores in no good.
