I can add the White Stripes to my "Wish-I-Could-Hate-But-Cannot" list.
I've crammed them right under Wings, "Good" Electronic Music, and Snoop Dog.
Does nothing for my street cred and I realize that.
Bless me for I have sneezed.

52I don't understand why the price is an issue. All the bands will get paid well, they will cover whatever it costs to rent out an area to host an outdoor festival, and yes, they will make some money to help them continue as a business, which, like it or not, that's what Pitchfork is. I can't imagine their webhosting bills are all that cheap.
Lightening up sounds pretty good right about now. Positive attitudes in '06! Shitty bands abound, but you don't gotta listen to 'em!

I don't see how lightening up and Pitchfork have anything to do with each other, but that's just me. I'm sure there will be a lot of bands that really rock out at the festival. It's just that I support those Pitchfork twerps enough by upping the number of hits they get each day when I visit the site (can't wait to see what idiotic thing they have to say next). I'll be darned if I'm going to support them any further by paying money to see a festival they put together. I want to see them fail.

54But aren't you supporting them by slagging them on a messageboard? No such thing as bad publicity? I wouldn't have even known about this festival if there wasn't a thread about it because I rarely visit Pitchfork.

just like that native american when the litter falls at his feet, every time you diss pitchfork, this guy cries.

56Does anybody actually like Pitchfork? How are they still doing business? Everyone seems to hate them, including "hipsters."

I know exactly what you mean and I agree. I'm weak man! But you're right, the appropriate response would be to ignore them completely.

58I'm not the kind of person who can enjoy "fests". I wish I could, since I agree with jayryan that it's good to be able to enjoy things.

59These are the headliners? I'm out of it. I've heard Cat Power and Vandermark, and I've heard of Iron and Wine and Of Montreal. The rest could be from Mars.

Cat Power, Clipse, Girl Talk, Iron and Wine and Grizzly Bear will be among the headliners to be announced Friday on the Chicago-based Internet music magazine's Web site. The lineup will also include Of Montreal, Jamie Lidell, Professor Murder and Ken Vandermark’s Powerhouse Sound. Additional bookings will be announced in coming weeks, with more than 40 artists expected to perform.
