302Yes! Against the team our former Captain asked to return to last week, thus dragging them down into the relegation struggle. "Out-of-Action Man" Richard Cresswell scored and "Safe Hands" Casper saved a penalty with his shins.
We're still bottom but there's nine games left and our form is improving dramatically.
I'm cautiously optimistic.

Hell of an important save, and a way to instantly make yourself a hero. Caspar'll haunt that Luton player for years. Ba-dum tish.
In other news, Chelsea v Spurs was a great game, Ian Holloway coached Plymouth to defeat with a hot water bottle up his jacket, and although I dozed Sunday-afternoon style through most of Blackburn v Man City on the radio, I came round long enough to hear City lose, and Alan Green get indignant about some City fans running on the pitch. "What are you wearing? A white tracksuit! You're stuck in the seventies - you're a joke! Get off the pitch!"

Ta, mate! Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, you have to bring up the hideous self-righteous shit-smear that is Alan Green. I go to the pub and spend good money on beer to watch the most toothless inept City performance since... well, Christ, where does one begin... specifically to avoid listening to that slavering prick, get home feeling pissed off and half-hungover already, and boom - there he is.
There are few people whose voice alone can make me spasm with fury - Sr Green is one of them. Alan, everyone hates you. It's not ironic, it's not good-natured banter, they hate you. And that's half-brick-to-the-face-again-and-again-and-again hatred, rather than any of the nicer sorts.
As for City, well... We're always being told that in the modern game, money is eroding all sense of true club identity and so on, so how come City, despite numerous chairmen, managers, re-finances etc are so incredibly consistent at being shit in exactly the same way? Sunday brought back memories of the Alan Ball era. Relegation holds no real fear for me - it's hardly the first time - but it's just wearing. All these new dawns, feeling buoyed up that the club is finally getting somewhere, then pffft.

Cheer up! There's a good chance you won't get relegated. It's too close for comfort, sure, but there's only really two relegation places left, as West Ham effectively booked their ticket to the Championship over the last 3 games.
Want to swap managers? There's still plenty of affection left for Psycho at Upton Park.

307I've got loads of affection for Psycho - I think he's the perfect antidote to the preening me me me ness that rules football at the moment. I'm just surprised that he hasn't managed to get more fight out of the players.
Sorry for moaning! I wasn't expecting any sympathy.
Is Curbs firmly out of favour? After spending so long at the Valley, his next job was always going to be tricky. Maybe someone with a bit more of a fire in their belly would have got the required results. Though if the results had been better, we'd all be saying how a calm hand on the rudder was just what was required.

308I will agree that Chelsea - Tottenham was a great game. However, I think Jol lost it with his substutions. I understand that Berbatov (who, I will say again, is absolute quality) was injured. However, throwing Mido on was a mistake. He looks like he's put a couple of pies on around the middle, and he was absolute rubbish at holding the ball up. He gave it away everytime he touched it. Also pulling Ghaly (even though he was on a yellow) and Lennon was a bit puzzling.
Man City still have two games in hand and are still above the drop zone, so I'd be very surprised if there was any change to the teams that are in the relegation zone right now.

Yeah, Jol got way too comfy--forgot who he was playing (or mistook the own goal for a hotspurs accomplishment). Berbatov (solid, agreed) was injured? I missed that?
Are Robinson and Keane back for next match? Is Theirry allowed back?
