how many distortion pedals do you run your bass through?

Bass is an anchor for everything else, including drums. I have never personally come across a situation where anything but plugging direct to board was necessary, much less using pedals. A bass amp is usually nothing more than a monitor to me. Floors should shake.

Hmph.

Play guitar if you want to impress with the number of notes or effects you can accomplish. Bass is emphasis for drums. There are always exceptions, but I always just wanted vibration. Pressure drop.

Hey thanks for the heads up on this Mr. Arrison...Xotic had initially made the RC for "regular" guitar only. I didn't know that they had finally released a bass model. The other bass pedal that they have had for a while is the BB Preamp, and although it's better than most boost/preamp/overdrive bass pedals I still wasn't that thrilled with the way that it sounded...on bass...on guitar I think it's awesome.

So far I don't have any...zip, zero, nada...pedals in my bass signal path. This confuses some, as I currently have like 10-15 pedals in front of me when I play. However, they're all being used for regular ol' noise/drone feedback loops and sent to a seperate mixer.

I'll definitely check out the RC though. Thanks again.
Oh, and fuck Mars Volta.
