Pick-a-Pres

Very near this time next year, the inevitable decision will be made. Taking into consideration the fact that positions of high political stature are now as accessible to body builders as they are to politicians, choose the next leader of the free world. Decisions need not be based on the actual U.S. presidential criterion (thirty-five year old U.S. born citizen etc....). For me, its a toss up between:

Michael Moore, because he is a logical thinker and he and I share many similar personal and political views, and....

Lars Ulrich, because the position would dramatically increase the odds of someone shooting him in the head.
be good or be good at it....

I used to think Michael Moore would be a great president, but I think he's far better as a cultural critic/pundit. Which isn't to say that he's the savior that some people say he is, but he's definitely good as the antonym to say, Rush "druggie" Limbaugh.

There are a few canidates in the Democratic camp that I think could do a pretty damn good job, and of them Clark or Dean actually have a good chance.

I'd probably say Ralph Nader, kind of boring but it's true.

If you really want the Reagan/Bush/Bush II regime gone anytime soon, you really only have one choice: General Clark.

Any guy who can rally pro-military and anti-war votes at the same time is a force to be reckoned with.

It's a fucked anamoly, sure, but it could work.
But I digress. Please continue with the squirrel circuit semantic debate.

Clark is clearly the favorite...and why not? He rocks the military vote whilst also stroking the loins of the more left leaning

Michael Moore, however, is an abomination...why the left holds him up as a spokesman is anyone's guess. He's really just the left's version of Rush Limbaugh

Dean hasn't helped any with his confederate bumper sticker comment--he'll be eating his words on that one for awhile

Oh and can someone take that troll shit off my handle? It's hurting my indie credibility

thanx

Michael Moore rocks a much more interesting dichotomy, blue collar workers and uptight liberals.

Only in that they both arose from an "uncultured" milieu and appear overly-strident to the gentry. I'm surprised at how moderate people on this board are politically. How can you not fucking worship Michael Moore?

Alex! Is not worshipping Michael Moore an indication of political moderation? Balls to that!

In Bowling for Columbine, as in all his movies, Moore chooses targets that no one could miss - Charlton Heston, Timothy McVeigh's brother (wasn't that the odd guy on the farm?) - and holds them up as representatives of all gun culture. I agree with his politics: I think guns are shitty and gun nuts are whacked, and that gun violence in America is creepy and tragic. But I do know that there are eloquent, intelligent people who support gun ownership, & Michael Moore isn't talking to them. Like Rush, he keeps his arguments simple, and carefully picks opponents who will help support his simplistic arguments. Fuck that shit. I'm mighty liberal, and I like alot of what Michael Moore does, but I wish he would stop dumbing it all down.

So no, please, not Moore for president. I still have no idea who's electable from the pack - Clark's probably the most likely. But potential presidents are never as presidential as real presidents, so it's hard to say.
