The kitty litter/food is what keeps me coming back.

I'm a an ass for shopping there and i'm also broke.
Which makes my assness tolerable in my narrow opinion.
Throw some t.p. and some 9 volt batteries and i feel like
i actually saved some money.
ChoCko is back in town!

Jesus...

Wal-Mart is terrible, evil -- one of the few things in this world that lives up to its hyped-up reputation as Bad Thing for Planet Earth.

But let us put aside all the pragmatic reasons for a moment, and get down to aesthetics: Wal-Mart is a dingy, dirty, poorly lit store full of cheap shit. I personally prefer to buy my cheap, China-made goods in a big box store that at least tries to be easy on the eyes -- Target.

I once accidentally spent 15 minutes in a Wal-Mart in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, a few days before Christmas. The experience will stay with me as long as I live. If there is a hell, it will look very much like the Wal-Mart in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, a few days before Christmas.
there is only one clear path and it's paved with bacon.

It's true, at least 70 percent of the people who shop there are missing limbs. and over 100 percent of the people have beards. I just read an article on how Wal-Mart basically strong arms it's suppliers into lowering their prices every year, in order to give us all those low, low prices on lamps shaped like lips and crap. it becomes difficult for them to make a profit, and then that's when all the outsourcing of your dad's factory job occurs.

I once on purpose spent 15 minutes in a Wal-Mart on S 27th St. in Milwaukee and it wasn't a few days before Christmas. It seems we had a similar experience. *shudder*

Congratulations to NYC for recognizing that 'low price at any cost' is not the recipe for a healthy economy.
NY Times. 3-28-07 wrote:Wal-Mart Chief Writes Off New York

Frustrated by a bruising, and so far unsuccessful battle to open its first discount store in the nation’s largest city, Wal-Mart’s chief executive said yesterday, “I don’t care if we are ever here.”

H. Lee Scott Jr., the chief executive of the nation’s largest retailer, said that trying to conduct business in New York was so expensive — and exasperating — that “I don’t think it’s worth the effort.”

These jerks always pout like spoiled brats whenever they don't get their way. Any time they're forced to retreat, it's always the same message: "We were coming to help your city! It's not about making money for Wal Mart- we're just simple people with a simple business, just trying to get along and be good neighbors!"

That's nice, now how about extending those standards to the rest of NY and getting those fuckers out of here. Shit, I've been to K-Marts in Manhattan and it's not like they were destroying the scenery. Big-Boxers do the real damage in small towns like Upstate NY has. The local independents and small chains get fucked royally when Mal-Wart moves in, as does the ecology and natural skyline.
