I used to have one with my old amp years ago and i'm missing it so i'm thinking of buying one and building a cab for it to go with my Twin.
Anyone had much experience with them for guitar?
Doesn't seem to be many choices compared with 12", everyone seems to go on about the JBL D130. Last time i saw the melvins buzz was running his usual set up with a Dietz 15" cab, sounded great but i have no idea if that had anything to do with the speaker.

2Weber makes a bunch of 15s, if you decide to go that route.
I'd imagine the low end would sound awesome.

Probably had the EV15 ML speaker in it then. Those things are the bomb.

5The best thing I find about using a 15" (speaker) is how solid the low-end is on clean sounds. You can hit the low strings and it's all there instead of getting muddy.
I'm using a 15" Greenback.

6Back when I played "regular" guitar (rather than bass) I would always use an additional 1x15" cab. I was always obsessed with having a very present and very solid low-end and that was the only way that I could achieve what I was after.
Oh, and fuck Mars Volta.

8I am sold on a 15" speakers.
A few weeks ago I tried out a Victoria Regal with a 15" speaker - it sounded amazing.
The other day I tried a vintage brown tolex Fender Pro and that also had a 15". It was amazing too, in a very similar way.The low end was obviously very tight but I feel like in both amps the highs and the upper mids were very present but with no harshness. That might be because the larger cone causes the high frequencies to roll off at lower point? I'm not sure but It could be coincidence too.

9Excuse the repeat of my story, but one of the best guitar sounds I ever had was a 50 watt Laney AOR head run into a frankenstein PA cabinet with a 15" and a horn. The 15" mushed the mids a bit, but there was good low end, and the horn made it sizzle. I always turned the amp all the way up...humbuckers and .13 gauge Kaman Performer strings guaranteed a solid sound. Wish I could still play those strings...
