champion of breakfast is i think the most famous one and it's easily possible to read in one evening. it's good, but not obviously better than his other works. i highly recommend cat's cradle, it's simply vonnegut at his best. i alsko really like jailbird, it;s a bit different that most of his books but it doesn't get mentioned on the best of KV lists very often.

Mother Night is my favorite. It was his third novel, and it's totally non-sci-fi.
It often gets called one of his more boring, "formative" works by the critics.

I got to shake his hand, once, and thank him, too.
