i.e.-reunite the lineup and re-record the songs that were never properly recorded. like the first half of on/off/on.
only i wish they had reunited w/ james williamson and finally put good production and performances on "i got nothin'," "johanna," "cock in my pocket," "head on," "i got a right," "scene of the crime," "i'm sick of you," "rubber legs," etc.
i mean, if those songs were put on one album and sounded good and not like bootlegs or demos it'd be a fucking killer album.
but alas, i'm stuck with my bootlegs and demos.
That would be really great. But, isn't or wasn't there quite a bit of animosity between the Ashetons and James Williamson, and wasn't that at least part of the reason why the Stooges broke up in the first place? And isn't that why they aren't playing anything from Raw Power on their tour?
i think they aren't playing anything from "raw power" since ron was on bass and not on guitar.
also, i've never heard of any animosity between the ashtons and williamson.
I'm pretty sure, at least according to the book "Please Kill Me", that Ron wasn't too pleased to move over from guitar to bass. I think he felt he was being demoted in the band. Whether there is any continued animosity or bad feelings, I couldn't say.
I think James may have been playing guitar when I saw Iggy play at Waves (where Smart Bar now is) in Chicago during the early 80's. That was a great show.
