David Lynch s Inland Empire

the music is incredible. it reminded me a lot of the soundtrack to eraserhead.

i didn't enjoy the film too much to be honest. i found it hard to follow at times, even so for lynch. it felt like an extended pastiche to his shorts rabbits and a darkened room.

laura is unquestionably incredible in the film, really great performance.

I'm thinking you haven't seen either "The Elephant Man" or "The Straight Story."

Good guess; I haven't seen either of those.

But I also hadn't seen that kind of treatment in a spooky, multi-dimensional Lynch movie before this one. I was really thrown off by the typical build-up of death being a spooky element in a series of surreal vignettes, and suddenly, wham! emotional realism.

Ok, but there didn't really need to be a monkey.

Holy Crap, this film fucking flawed me tonight.

I have hated almost every film I have seen in the last few years and this was like someone came out of the screen and shook me bodily by the shoulders whilst screaming in my face "YOU'VE BECOME COMPLACENT DSKI, THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE EMOTIONALLY AFFECTED BY ART! YOU'VE NOT SEEN IT ALL BEFORE!!! THIS IS AN EMOTION CALLED DREAD!!! GET USED TO IT, YOU HAVE THREE HOURS OF IT!!!!"

Absolutely NOT CRAP. Stunning. Everything I ever wanted from Cinema.
