Really Good Beers

When I was on tour this summer I discover the joy of Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. This stuff is not for the faint of heart and you will be hard pressed to drink more than two. The flavor of this stout is absolute perfection in my book.

Oh and the label is bad ass as well:

I've been greatly expanding my knowledge of microbrews the last several months, but many US brewers drastically overhop their beer (paging Lagunitas). However, here are a few of my faves from here and elsewhere:
Dogfish Head- Raison De'tre
Dogfish Head- Indian Brown Ale
Smuttynose- Old Brown Dog Ale
Stoudts- Fest
Stoudts- Golden Lager
Troegs- Dreamweaver
Stone- Imperial Stout
Defiant- Muddy River
Ayinger- Ur Weiss
Weinstephaner- Hefeweissbier Dark
Blue Point- Toasted Lager
all the Chimay beers
all the Paulaner beers

This list could continue, but I'll cut it off there.
What are the queers doing to the soil?

I really love their Uff-Da bock, and the Wisconsin Belgian Red. The Belgian Red is a very refreshing Lambic style beer, perfect for a summer's day.

For an everyday beer, I really like Leinenkugel Red Ale or Creamy Dark.

Comet cafe in Milwaukee has a "signature" drink called the "Mad Cow," which is just a black & tan made out of Guinness and New Glarus Spotted Cow. It's nummers.

Mark, with your current post count, rank, and icon, i don't think you are allowed to post under that name anymore. Preserve that shit!

Edit: FUCK YOU ALREADY RUINED IT

Dr. A, what did it say? I wasn't paying attention.

Stella is fucked up, gassy, over priced, chemically nasty, loony juice.

I had a great beer in Austin from a brewery that was local. It was a weisse beer, kind of like Hoegaarden (another cracker) but less gassy and more flavoursome. It was awesome.
I got it on tap at Lovejoy's, where Spot of SST fame works (bizarrely). Anyone?

I've had the Riverwest and the Eastside and enjoyed these both quite a bit, especially the Riverwest.

all 3 members of the Hi-fi who post here live with in walking (stumbling) distance from that brewery, and I can't think of a better brewery, there tour is like $5.00 and for that you get a pint glass and 4 pints of beer (if you tip the bartender) even there "specialty" beers like the Pumpkin or the Holiday Spice are great, I mean I only drink one once in a while but they really hit the spot when needed, and at 10.5 the holiday spice packs a wollip...
