where the fuck is Astoria?

so I am being sent out west by my company and one of the places I am required to show up and pretend to work is called Astoria, that's all I know.
I am guessing it's somewhere near Vancouver since the next day I am spossed to be there.
Anyone? Astoria?
do they even have an airport?

Depressing town where the Columbia River meets the Pacific in NW Oregon. Given it's location, the city's economic depression is incredible and it's not lifting anytime soon, despite lcoal meth-manufacturing efforts.

Meriwether Lewis wrote vicious, vicious things about the winter he stayed around there in 1805. You get the feeling this place could never catch a fucking break.

There is a weird bar called the Worker's Tavern there. I showed up there on a night when they happened to be hosting the owner's wake. He had passed away after saying fuck you to cancer for 14 years. This was the single greatest drinking experience of my life.

You will see trees.
Most likely, they will be conifers.

Here's your airport information.
You should buy some liquor to help the day along.

Nice to know that they just got the internet; have fun with that one. What do you do on your airplane job trips anyway? It seems like traveling around from here to there would be kinda cool (minus this trip).

So depressing, in fact, that it lies across the Columbia River from Cape Disappointment, at the southern tip of the Long Beach Peninsula.

Astoria is actually seeing a bit of a small renaissance lately. I think they just added a really nice Safeway, and they might even have more than one Starbucks.

Do yourself a favor, Marsupialized, and track down some legendary PNW weed.
