Jimi Hendrix once walked into my Mother in a crowded club and almost knocked her over. She says that she thought he was 'big and ugly'.
During the late 60's/early 70's she claims to have 'fallen asleep' during concerts by:
Pink Floyd (Syd Barrett fronted)
Soft Machine
The Who
Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
To this day, she still complains about the specific films '200 Motels' ('I was like, what'?) and 'Death in Venice' ('this boring film about a man dying'), which my Dad also dragged her along to see, alongside many other films and bands. They divorced when I was very young.
The music i'm involved with, he attempts to be supportive but doesn't really get it at all, whilst I refuse to let my Mother hear it, even though she asks me about it often. It's the constant implication that music is always something which other people do, as if i'm merely pretending to do it or something, which I can't pretend doesn't upset me, as it's essentially my life at this point. Still, they accept it and I accept them likewise.
