I just voted. Didn't wait in line. All-in-all a painless experience. The election officials in my precinct said that 40% of registered voters in that precinct had already voted (this was at 11:00AM).
In Chicago we have this un-ending ballot wherein you can vote yes or no to retain certain judges -- a large number of them (50, 60?). Call me an uninformed lout, but not knowing anything about these men and women, I didn't vote yay or nay for any of them. The election official said my other votes will still count, and that the vote-card verification computer would spit my ballot out, and then I would be able to over-ride it and make the vote stick. OK. But the computer just accepted my card, said it was all in order -- with about 50 potential options not punched.
I am only slightly concerned about this, until further notice.
there is only one clear path and it's paved with bacon.
