Not so great? I think that album's amazing, and all things considered, it might be my favourite. Granted, there are certain songs on other albums that are better, but I like the way it hangs together. Reclamation is an amazing opening, and when you get to KYEO it really feels like the finish line. I think Killtaker's the only album since that approaches its greatness.

Special Wishes is probably one of the best album I purchased this year.
I recently bought the first ones:

Wow, it's like listening to a complete different band. I was really disappointed.
Actually, I heard that they used to be different members in the band.

Courtesy and Good Will Toward Men is amazing though....

This record begins with "Exit Only". "Reclamation" is the second song.

Otherwise, I agree that it's a terrific collection of songs, if not a terrific recording of those songs.

1980 saw Garden Of Love, which was a really boring ballad album. Not because ballads are boring, but because all the ballads on this album were boring.

1981 saw Street Songs, which was about several light years better.

Is there a maximum time allowed in the context of this thread between Shitty Album and Awesome Followup Record? Because many artists had great comeback records after a string of really shitty records, so I guess "comeback" is a relative term here.

I'm surprised. I know some folks who disliked 'Terraform' just because they never got past the first track. Personally I can't fault anything bearing the Shellac name. I even love 'The Futurist'.
