I don't let him listen to Shellac and The Giddy motors anymore because he goes fucking crazy when it's on and starts running into me and jumping into the wall.

My son, who is 7, is a fan of Brainiac, The Ramones, Devo, Deerhoof, and Mates of State. All of these bands get him in a dancing / wall bouncing frenzy. Im just glad he like some of the stuff i listen to. I fucking hated my folks taste in music as a wee lad.

I remember liking whatever was on the radio as a youngster. I specifically remember liking Bruce Springsteen and Michael Jackson. I got a "Boombox" and the "Born in the USA" tape for a birthday, I think my next tape was Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack. Those were good times.

I will not allow my daughters to be over-exposed to commercial radio, they listen to everything that I do.

Then you had exceptional taste.

For no other reason than the fact that WLS was playing Autobahn on the hour (I spent my first 6 years outside of Chicago, it was Kraftwerk.
It was the first single I bought.

The first album I bought was the Star Wars soundtrack.
