If you want any hope of a break on sentencing, get a lawyer. If it takes the system kicking your ass to get the point across, don't get a lawyer.

Get a lawyer, see if you can get into a inexpensive treatment program and public service, depending on you situation and record. Most DUI programs have pretty standard sentances based on how you were picked up. A lawyer may not be able to reduce your sentance but perhaps reduce or eliminate jail time vs treatment (if you can afford it). You will probibly not be able to drive for some time so make arrangements in that respect.

Find out info on you judge if he is a born again join his church and get baptized be ritious. That worked for a friend of mines brother

The thing to remember is that you should not have been driving. Move somewhere where you can walk to a bar. So you don't kill me coming home from work. Or bite the bullet and get off the sauce

3 of my friends have had DUI's over the past 8 months or so. All in Cobb County, suprise suprise. One kid got his second DUI a few months before his 21st birthday.

If you get to a _second_ DUI, you're fucked.

Get a lawyer, you'll still lose your license for at least 6 months, if not a year, and still have to pay a shit ton of money, but you might miss jail time. Which, depending on where in Georgia you are, could be a very, very harsh experience.

I was going to say some shit, but it looks like it's all been covered by others here on this forum. Both smart-assed, non sympathetic comments and otherwise.

The long term solution is getting your act together, and not putting others at risk with your own stupid behavior. I'm not saying I was never young and stupid either, just that I learned to make better choices.
