Yeah, I remember hearing somewhere that their keyboard sounds are actually sampled Nintendo noises.

If you like that kind of thing, check out Tub Ring. They just played the Beat Kitchen 2 weekends ago. Some of their members have formed an offshoot project called the Super 8-Bit Brothers, with music almost entirely composed of Nintendo video game sounds.

The Pussy Pirates are a new, somewhat local all-girl no-wave/punk band. Their members reside in Ann Arbor, MI and Chicago, IL and they've played a handful of shows around Chicago over the past few months.

This is a demo CD that I bought at one of their shows for $1. The sound quality varies from lackluster to really poor, but you can get a general idea of their sound. These recordings don't really do justice to their live show, but check 'em out anyway.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND seeing the Pussy Pirates live. Aside from having a hilarious name, they're fun and they really throw off a lot of energy. The next gig in Chicago is on June 10th at the Fireside Bowl. Their new CD should be out very soon if it's not already.

Those girls are friends. They are extremely entertaining!

"This selection of Cone of Light music was recorded in 1997 by Astro Nomo Higgs within the alternately expanding and contracting parameters of te Cone of Light. It is said: "The Cone records its own." Thanks due to Brother Alexander, who accompanied Higgs on initial excursions into the Cone in the Summer of 1991. Tracks here include: The Devil's Footprin t, At Unspace, Dinner Bells, Survival Hymn Of The Organism, and more. As you listen, the characteristically conical sound will become your own, for good or ill. Enjoy this recoding, study it, give it to a friend, or throw it away as the cone commands.
