I can get Knob Creek for $21 at Zipps Liquor in the Minneapple.

52I like Knob slightly better than Makers. I just got back from the Mexican border town of Progresso while vacationing in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. You can get booze cheap across the border, when you come back across you have to pay tax which was $1.25 per bottle.
I bought a liter of Woodford Reserve down there for $30 bucks. Its my first bottle of WR, so I don't know how that compares. I would be opening that up, but I had to many Corona's while I was there, and I don't think fine Bourbon tasting is in order right now!

Maker's Mark was the gateway drug. It's weak now that I have had my eyes opened. I think it is quite sweet, and the only kick it really has is from the kehaul in it. Didn't someone say "brown sugar dissolved in rubbing alcohol" It's merely OK.
Woodford Reserve is great. Subtle kick, great aftertaste. Not too sweet.
Bulleit is pretty good in small doses and cheap. I think it goes down great, and has a wallop of a kick and not a bad aftertaste of a cask barrel, but jesus, the headaches the next day from having two glasses??
Elijah Craig is great too. It's like everything that MM should be, sans the hip marketing.
Knob Creek is peppery and harsh, but somewhat enjoyable to take the edge off. I still think it is sub par to these other bourbons I mentioned here. Maybe equal to MM.
