NEW NEUROSIS

neurosis timeline
-------------------

piece of mind: 80s hardcore

the word as law: hardcore meets metal

souls at zero: mid-tempo moody metal w/ acoustic guitar, tribal tom-thumping, samples, keyboard, long songs

enemy of the sun: slower, heavier and noisier than souls at zero, big drum circle at the end

through silver in blood: most popular and acclaimed album, tuned waaay down to A, dark and doomy, has their "hit", locust star -- this is the "classic" sound that they are harkening back to with the new album

times of grace: more crushing heaviness but now with softer interludes, and recorded by albini

a sun that never sets: long ballads that gradually build to heavy crescendos

the eye of every storm: more synth textures, pink floydiness, and the first non-slow song in a while

the new one: seems like a return to the heavy stuff that was popular
