That is an interesting read on it. I saw it as the complete opposite, Chris was looking for someone to validate his interest in getting out, JT was oblivious and annoyed, and thusly, was shot. Also, Chris talking about flipping, and Tony giving up the Arabs to the Feeb? A strange paradox in my opinion. The scene with Paulie in Chris' lawn? Fucking priceless. I still think the bell tolls for several the characters, however, I believe Tony still makes it out alive, though his world is becoming increasingly smaller.

He should've never said it out loud. That's cardinal sin number two (after squealing), actually naming "our thing." That sealed his fate and sobered Chris up enough to make it clear what he had to do. Bang.

That was exactly my take on it. But I still say Chrissy flips if he doesn't get himself clipped first).

I don't think it's out of character for somebody to do something they normally wouldn't dream of doing if they feel they're out of options. A recurring theme in this show is Tony pushing and pushing on somebody to the point where they feel they are out of options - at which point Tony then just deals with them once and for all. He pushed his cousin back into the life, for example, then ends up having to kill him.

Chrissy laid out a pretty convincing motive for flipping before he shot the writer last night.

Anyway, AJ. Yeah yeah yeah, the look on his face when they were tearing up that college dead beat...And couple that with AJ just not giving a damn about anything else...He could be primed to be the young Parisi crew's enforcer.

Or attempting to be and getting killed in the process. He doesn't have what it takes and he's going to get himself in mortal trouble the first time he attempts any truly serious violence.

Yesterdays episode was much better compared to the last two. Not only with the Chris/Paulie storyline but A.J. Stepping up as well. Tony and AJ mirrored each others actions when they arrived at home that night. It was a really foreboding moment for the future of AJ's character.

I think that Tony's tip to the feds will have some serious implications later. The feds might implicate Chris based on this tip for selling those guys the weapons in the first place. It could go beyond that too. I've got a strange feeling that this will definitely bite Tony in the ass somehow. Hmm, to think two episodes ago he was worried about paulie's big mouth. I didn't think this was slow, i thought it was the best episode of the final 9 yet. Both when Chris pushed Paulie Jr out the windon and when he shot Mr. writer dude, i did a proper "FUCK!" out loud.
Some real comedy in this episode too (tony telling his son to "go get a blow job"? - awesome)
I like chris, i've always liked him, but he needs to be got rid of for Tony's sake, he can't be trusted. I think Chris shot that dude for no reason more than he's drunk, angry and no-one's listening. If he continues, the only people who will listen will be the feds.

I want AJ to shoot Chris, and step up into his dad's business. Yeah, he's stupid and everything, but Chris is a moron, so's Paulie, AJ at least would have the respect (purely because of his dad) that Chris no longer has. He could start bottom rung, and still no-one would fuck with him.
Thing is, even if AJ's incapable of bringing in money, him just operating in those circles (with a taste for blood as we've seen) could be the security that Tony needs. If AJ stepped up in such a way, then is there still a question that Tony might be whacked? AJ would provide enough revenge insurance to make sure that didn't happen?

I know I'm getting carried away with my projections here, but it'd be interesting if Tony, who doesn't want to see his kids involved in this at all, had to reconclie the choice between his son either following him into business, having a 'future' and being respected for the first time ever... or being a down and out forever.

Anyway, this shit is GOOD.

I saw it as him killing the writer because he couldn't keep his mouth shut. I think he realized it was very easy to talk to him, because he felt comfortable because of a shared experience - AA - and perhaps he had to rid himself of this easy confessional.

I don't think it's possible for AJ to join the business, for one reason only: There are only 4 episodes left. The most they could do would be to hint at his future. But I'm thinking AJ is going to die soon, most likely caused by his own stupidity. Then things get nuts.

Anyway, as always, I am enjoying the show.
