Little details from your day

There's much ado recently about the appointment of a new mayor in my hometown, a city that has been run by dyed-in-the-wool socialists for the last one hundred years straight.

The thing is, this new mayor is rumoured to be a Christian. A Christian, for fuck sake.

So this morning, I found a brochure in my mailbox, calling out against this "appalling electoral betrayal." The last sentence went:

"1789 - 1917 - 1968, these are significant historical dates. The French revolution, the Russian revolution, student revolts.

We must take this to streets."

Yeah!

Lst night I dreamed that I was on some sort of beach holiday , went cycling along a cliff and ended up trying to ride down it with a friend. Stopped about halfway and left the bike there to go to the beach and find empty crab shells and unusual fish to catch.
I took my finds up to the hut at the top of the cliff where i was meeting this girl who had my bike. When I got there, she was nowhere to be seen and all of a sudden it sort of turned into ATP. I get changed and all of a sudden, Steve Albini is there with a newspaper and a bag of beers. He is drunk. I'm like " Steve Albini? Are you drunk?" and he just giggled. We had a weird conversation where I was all "you're not uptight! are you coming to watch some bands? can i read your paper?" and he's like " yeah, of course" all the while grinning maniacally.

can't wait for next weekend.

Is the Russian Revolution really something that should be aspired to when you take into account what it spiraled into?

Also (while keeping in mind that I am not a Christian and just like to play the devil's advocate) is this *gasp!* Christian a reasonable fellow like most Christians around the world or is he/she a right wing freak that would justify your knee jerk reaction?

Besides having a day off, is there anything better than your boss not being around to look over your shoulder when you have to be at work?

Currently surfing the interweb, listening to face-melting music from my external hard drive, and managing to actually do a little business, as well.

For lunch, chicken noodle soup. Whee!
Check out your mind.

I am picturing the populace of my little town taking to the streets over the election of a new mayor, capturing and executing the 47 year-old orthodontist and Jayee in front of the Village Hall, people with torches and what not. Pitchforks.

My final comment was partly in jest (of the pamfleteers' grotesque ambitions, which amused me). That said, marxist socialism still represents around thirty percent of the electorate here. Those folks would be happy to tell you that what the revolution spiraled to doesn't necessarily reflect on the initial intentions.

Reasonable or not, I just really don't want to have a Christian in power. As an atheist, I don't think this is an unreasonable demand. Nothing good ever came from Christian politics, right? Right. Nothing.
