Mr. Steve Albini and/or people of Electrical Audio,

I'm hesitant to fact-check on a message-board, but in this instance it seems warranted.

A close friend of mine in Toronto has been contacted by an engineer/producer from New York wanting to record his band. This fellow, as my friend tells it, says he 'learned how to record with Steve Albini.'

Anyone know or remember a "Jeremy Snyder?"

I just don't want a close friend to get taken for a ride or snaked into a snuff-film ring or something. . .

Much Thanks,

Andrew.

I don't remember teaching Jeremy Snyder how to record. I think your friend is about to be handcuffed to a pipe, fucked in the ass and then stabbed on film.

Well, video anyway.

Wouldn't it be interesting if snuff films really existed? With my interests and circle of friends, if they did exist, I probably would have seen one by now, and I haven't, so I presume they don't. But if they did exist, and your friend ended up on one, and if I got to see it, well... I guess I'd let you know.

my god, you are so fucking stupid. please go away. no-one likes you, and i'd bet you five bucks that the crowd at the "rocky horror picture show" midnight showing that you always attend is only pretending to like you until you're too drunk to remember the fact that they were obviously not kidding when they said that they hated you.

next time, stick your hand up your ass, and pull out the "dubya-dildo" that you've got lodged in it, instead of punishing all of us with your retarded "humour" that you are quite pointlessly typing up. you've proven yourself to be the ass-lint of this forum. was that your goal? good, i'm glad to hear it. now, run along. and please, stay the hell away from steve (although it would be cool to see heather kill you).

sincerely,
jet silhouette.

Whoah. I had a feeling the fellow was full of it. Thanks for responding.

Actually I'd be Jeremy Snyder. No I'm not this Jerm Snyder. Odd coincident.

I'm assuming your friend is Dave Dunnet from Dupont?

I didn't tell him i learned everything from Steve. I most likely said something which was misconstrued as "I learned from Steve Albini."

I've changed a lot of my methods based on things I've read about Steve Albini's techniques and preferences(mostly on this website) and i think private messaged him back and forth once or twice over mic positioning.
I was probably unclear and meant to communicate that I learned a lot of my technique from things Steve Albini has spoken of.

I apologize for the misconception, and for future recordings, I'll be sure to specify that I have yet to work under Steve Albini.

I'd actually be pretty surprised if one didn't exist somewhere. Now, I've never had any direct experience with the rapist\murderer crowd, I'd wager that there are quite a few that would be more than eager to capture it all on film. Now, where or not this would be a bonafide snuff film, I can't say. Is distribution, even in a limited sense a requirement for it to be a snuff film?
