Why, cuz it means you actually have to listen to the song? Agreed. I can still play it though. It's annoying minus the hilarity to hear someone else play it badly.

EDIT: I am voting crap because you, kerble, gave it such a nice Operation:MINDpackage. Brill.

Why are you learning to play "Silent Lucidity?"

just the intro.

it's stupid simple and you can drive band mates nuts with it quite easily.

sorta like "Today" by smashing punkins.

just the first few measures is enough to taint your brain.

to play "Silent Lucidity" for others is truly a "mindcrime".
kerble is right.

So my brother and I really liked Operation: Mindcrime when we were knee high to a grasshopper, and we decided to see Queensyrche in the late 90s at a show in which they planned to play that entire record. Most of the concert wasn't so great, but Mindcrime, that was fine. At the end of the set--"Eyes of Stranger" closed the set, but I'm sure I don't need to remind you of that--Geoff Tate started running around in a giant circle across the stage, just as the song was building to a crescendo. As the real Geoff Tate is running around in circles, there is a film of Geoff Tate playing on huge screens on each side of the stage; in that film bit, Tate is running toward the camera (really, he's running toward the audience--here he comes!).

Then, just as Tate-on-film jumps into the camera and a graphic of breaking glass appears on the film, Tate-on-stage dives off the back of the stage, into the darkness. It was perfectly timed. It was also totally, totally awesome. I will not apologize for appreciating the awesomeness of this moment.

As I write this, I have goosebumps. I cannot talk about this moment without getting goosebumps.
