Shellac May 17th KoKo

Amazing show. I managed luckily to get a view from the one of the side balconies, the only down side to this was that I think the sound (compared to Scala gig I saw them at) wasn't as good there, but it was a great sight to behold from that position.

I noticed there was quite a bit of 'moshing' in the front middle, and nearly a fight during Billiard Player Song?
So funny to watch a sea of people's heads nodding to such timed perfection throughout the set. Was Todd inebriated or what? so funny.

Did anyone else notice Shellac walk the length of the queue beforehand outside, almost as though they were about to join the line? (maybe they did, I lost 'em) That was quite a surreal experience seeing them just strolling past me on the street like that.

Great night.

Yeah, Todd and Steve were just in front of me as I crossed the road from Mornington Crescent to meet a mate outside the venue. From the back, Todd looked like a lost goth.

And yes, from the balconies, the wave of head bobbing made me smile too. Because I knew I was doing exactly the same. We were all one.

I think I've see Shellac more times than any other band... and I've never seen Todd that animated!

In fact the only time I've seen him do anything other than sit behind the kit and pant was in New Zealand when my friend gave him some pot after the show in Christchurch.

Salute Todd, you rock!*
