Those Vaccaro guitars...

Nothing is broken on it, I just need the neck. I came across the body quite some time ago and bought it with the intention of using it as a project figuring the neck couldn't be THAT hard to find (stupid me). I've been lookin' on ebay but haven't found shit, although at this point i'm willing to just buy a regular wood neck and slab that on until I come across the genuine article. which leads to another question, what kind of neck would fit in there besides the stock one? I would find out myself, but i'm not fully prepared to start disassembling all of my guitars in order to get this one going (yet).

That happened to me with my Vaccaro.

From what I've heard, this is only an issue with the South Korean imports. The American ones had a stronger neck.
I talked to someone who worked at the Vaccaro factory in NJ. He said that tons of necks were damaged in shipping and hinted that this was the reason why the company went under.
If it's an actual X Ray, it might be OK. If it's an X Ray 2 or whatever the designation for the imports, it isn't worth working with.

None of this information should be taken as hard fact, just what I've heard through various rumors.

you might try asking over at http://www.metalnecks.com/

EGC Kevin and a guy named Greg Bailey post over there, either one of these guys can probably make you a neck. and from the picture and comment about the headstock I'd probalby go that route instead of tracking a vaccaro neck down . I think i've seen vaccaro necks on ebay but it might've just been the fretboards. there are two vaccaro fretboards on ebay now, maybe the seller knows where to get a neck.
