See, back in the days of the Flag, they didn't have peer-to-peer filesharing--they had to fool people right to their face. Punk rock was so hard back then.
I used to know this kid in high school who loved heavy metal, but who wasn't too bright (imagine that).
Anyway, all us punk rockers used to have fun with him by telling him his favorite musicians were actually closet homosexuals. It all started when he found out that Robert Halford, 'The Metal God' from Judas Priest, was actually gay. He was so distraught that we just couldn't resist messing with him a bit. So every time we saw him at the lunch table, we would mention in passing another heavy metal/mainstream rocker who also happened to be gay. The list included Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, Steve Perry (Journey), Geddy Lee (Rush), Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue) and the entire band W.A.S.P.
Usually it took some convincing to get him to believe us, but the day we told him that David Lee Roth was gay, he just accepted it immediately, remarking "Yeah, I can see that. I always thought that he was trying to cover up for something with that macho he-man attitude." It was all we could do to keep from busting out laughing at that one.
