I have not yet been to a show here, and this might be the one to see!
Promise me you'll get naked, Greg. Or something.
Come see us on our mind-blowing tour to the East
3The Bitter Tears are so spectacular every time I see them that it astounds me. You won't need nakedness to feel their special weird discomfort that they exude while playing wonderful music, though the weirdness they provide leaves you feeling as if you've been flashed. By a magical hobo. (None of this should be taken as discouragement from nudity, Greg)
I first saw the Bitter Tears at the Double Door about a week and a half after I gave up a pretty okay life and landed, completely alone but optimistic, in Chicago. Their performance confirmed my choice. I felt charmed, delighted and enthralled, rewarded for being out way past my bedtime.
I met my first Electrical Audio member at this show, the mighty Michael Dahlquist, who made fun of me for reading a book between bands and then asked me out to dinner. He reacted with such delight that I concluded he hasn't been out with a girl in years.
Greg played his slide whistle 6" from our faces in a cotton romper and Alan's monologue during "Murdered At The Bar" left me doubled over, and depositing some of my pint of beer on the floor.
I remember laughing out loud while riding my bike home from the show, just purely, blissfully, simply happy for the first time in a long time.
I have seen them many times since and now know that this joy is not just the result of having a swell gentleman ask me to dinner, or being alone in a brand new city, with weirdos like myself who go stupid over pure expressions of creativity. It is, in large part, because the Bitter Tears are a majestic band, who have never, not once, left me not laughing out loud on my bike ride home from the show.

In retrospect, I should have stepped off the stage and utter-kicked Mrs. O'Leary's cow.

6Oh, how I love this confounding, joyous and frightening band.
I caught myself singing the following line to myself today as I walked away from work:
Before the great storms arrive
It's exciting
Exciting
Salut, The Bitter Tears.

9Do you happen to know if the 8PM means doors at 8 or you guys play at 8 (in NYC, that is)
I don't want to miss you guys, but I work until 9 (oddly enough, only about 5 blocks or so from the venue) and it would suck if I just got one song or so.

10This is a fine fine band doing fine fine things.
Well played, Ma'am.
BRW! Often I find the lilting phrase "....did you know? That is impossible to do?" bubbling out of my head.

Greg, have you all recorded the HAAAAAAAAATE song yet?
