Have you ever actually heard the Tim Buckley original? I think it's completely heartbreaking, whereas this version has no soul at all.

The This Mortal Coil version sounds much more mysterious in my humble opinion.I love the way that Liz Fraser articulate the lyrics. It's so strange. And,of course,Robin's guitar is there...

I've lost whatever tape it was on, and I have forgotten who did it, but there is an extremely funky soul version of "Sunshine of Your Love" with a super sassy lead vocal. I certainly prefer that version to the original.

A quick google search has failed to find it, but it has found another storming version, this time by Ralph "Soul" Jackson:here.

Not as good as the version I wanted to find, but as the site says, this song

positively cranks.

Rotary Connection maybe? That version is excellent.
