14Senator Paul Wellstone (D-MN), "the Soul of the Senate." Like Feingold, he was on the losing end of many a 99-1 vote. And yet, Trent Lott showed up at Wellstone's memorial (only to be booed mercilessly).
Honorable mention goes to Senator Eugene McCarthy, who was the only real anti-war candidate in 1968. It cost him his career, but history has proven him correct. (Sound familiar?)
