Christ, they don't even allow you to setup DHCP with IP address affinity (so that a particular computer will get associated with the same IP address from DHCP each time it reboots). Fucking retarded.

You could use DHCP with a static IP on the client. So this feature is not really needed.


...which is what I'm forced to do, but it moves the IP address administration to the client, which is a complete pain. Between TiVo, PCs, my NAS and my other geeky crap I have 18 NICs on my home network, and it would be a hell of a lot easier to administer their IP assignments from one central location. Plus, if I turn off DHCP, I have to set the other stuff manually too (DNS, etc) which is just total ass.

I have to agree with that many NICs in a "home setup" that feature is useful.

I meant DHCP with static IP where you only set the IP manually and the rest is still provided via DHCP.
