Is Jay Ryan's b/w cover illustration referencing Chinese propaganda posters? The image looks familiar and the only thing I can think that it reminds me of are some communist propaganda posters I've seen in graphic design books.
Sorry, I'm too lazy to go through the 100 pages of various EIG posts, so kerble me if I deserve it.
Either way, kudos to all involved with making EIG. The vinyl is worthy of the artwork and vice versa. I go to bed at night with that drum sound in my ears.

262in a general sense, yes, but specifically, no.
i like chinese communist propaganda posters, all the happy people marching arm in arm with hammers on their shoulders and flowers flying through the air.
but no, this image isn't a reference to anything other than the glory of uffizi's army.

I'd rather see a band called 'The World Is My Buttplug'

the new shellac lp is good. i like it, but the vibe is tinged. my girlfriend likes it too- only because she thinks bob is "hot". this has been a longstanding issue since seeing shellac live in edinburgh afew years ago.

it's uncomfortable though.

I only ask because shellac CD/Vinyl has been similarly priced before, but when i bought EIG on vinyl last monday, i got charged £16 (i guess about $30).
Is that correct?
That is not correct. As I only paid $15US for it (£7.50).
Unless you bought it from some shop that had to pay some extra expensive fee to import it from the US or something. Perhaps it's not yet being distributed in the UK and is available as an import only at the moment?
I bought it for £15...$30.
Honest to god we get fucked over if we want to buy vinyl here. The cheapest you're gonna find a new release is around £12.
It's not an import copy either, Touch and Go and Shellac hate England...
That's fucked. I just checked it out on amazon.co.uk and that is the case as it's £15 there. However in the new and used option which is
Here.
There are several stores in the US which will ship to the UK. Of course, by the time you get done with shipping and handling, you'll have probably only saved a few pounds unless you order several records at once.
Still, as far as getting records shipped overseas and all, a lot of people will tell you it's a dodgy business, but I've always had good luck with it. I used to mail order new releases to Japan when I knew the local stores there wouldn't stock them (ironically, in Japan import vinyl and CDs are ALWAYS cheaper than domestic.)
Good luck to you.
I actually use Amazon marketplace all the time and import vinyl on a regular basis without any trouble generally, but for a brand new release, if you want to buy it straight away then you gotta play full whack. Obviously I wait for a lot of stuff, but not everything always comes down enough to make it worthwhile so it can be a gamble. Anyway, my wifee paid for this for me for fathers day.
Oh and P+P is set at £1.24 on amazon, not bad at all! Unless you get a random customs charge which is horrific.
