Chicago Bar: The Skylark

Regardless of what happened at Skylark that fateful night, I still love that place and I continued to go there up until I moved. It was a staple bar for me for quite a while.. and yes, Dano is a great fella who always plays great records. Next time you're in, ask him about his theater organ record (he'll happily play it for you) and when you do, tell him Andrea says "hi" and that I miss him terribly.

Oh, and be sure to order some cole slaw, its top-notch.

I lived there so it was easy enough...

As TheMayor said, there are some good art galleries along the 19th/Halsted area down to Cermak and the monthly studio openings are worth the "trip" to the southside, though its really more like the lower west side, but I won't argue semantics. Anyway, stroll through the galleries, drink wine, be merry, etc.

I believe someone nearby does a yearly hog-roast that is not to be missed.
