No. But only because it's the White Stripes.

Fantastical basslines:
-"Lady Godiva's Operation" by The Velvet Underground.

-"Strange Days" by The Doors (not the whole song, just the section after the second verse - that part is great).

-"Fleurette Africaine" by Duke Ellington (w/Charles Mingus on bass playing this beautifully weird, fluttering bassline).

-so, so many from Dazzling Killmen's Face of Collapse.

This could go into the "songs you listen to over and over again" category as well. I've listened to the beginning of The Sprawl, off of Daydream Nation, about 300 times. The bass is hammering on a high note in the beginning, then drops an octave or two, right around the line "fuck you." It's beautiful what the drop does to the song - it goes from this gentle lyrical thing to a freight train, all because of one note.

I don't know if too many people here have heard of this band Massacre that had Fred Frith and Bill Laswell in it, but Bill's bass work on "Legs" is fucking badass!

Yes- Long Distance Runaround

Fugazi- Break, Waiting Room, that song that Joe sings on The Argument, a bunch of others

Primus- yeah, they're all pretty awesome, but DMV and Nature Boy are some of the most impressive

Anything by any of the Ruins' bassists

"The Humpty Dance"

Come on. Don't act like it doesn't fuckin' rule.

Yes, yes, this thing is true. The only time I ever stepped foot into the horrid Cubby Bear across from Wrigley Field, this song came on and saved my 15 minutes there from being a total waste.

That bass line is made for an obscene-bass club sound system.

A dancefloor masterpiece! They really don't make 'em like that anymore.
there is only one clear path and it's paved with bacon.

Which Uzeda record is the one n' only? I have two and know of at least three more...

Different Section Wires is the only full length of consequence that I know of. There's also the 4 EP, which is good. The first one, Out of Colours, but I think we all know about that.
