3That's a damn shame, they were his most tolerable band.
Greg and Steve both recorded albums for them here. I thought they were pretty great but what do I know?

6Make Believe are/were very great. They really caught me off-guard when I saw them play here in Minneapolis a few months back. Greg Norman deserves a prize or something for the sonic perfection of Of Course.

7Actually, since the irrational hatred of Tim Kinsella was what stopped most people from checking out this band this could be a step towards wider appreciation. I doubt anyone would say that Sam Zurick isn't an interesting guitarist or that Nate Kinsella isn't an impressive drummer/wurlitzerer.
I envisage Genesis-style stadium accolades from here on out.

10Mike Kinsella bailed because he was sick of Victor Villareal's inability to get it together and he was offered lots of work elsewhere. Ryan Rapsys joined for a while and they wrote some new songs for a second album that never happened. Basically, Victor was heavily into the drugs again and he was completely unreliable. Eventually Tim and Sam gave up and formed Make Believe from the touring line-up of JOA.
The Owls album is one of my favourites. Never get sick of it.
