Just a little informal survey. Please chime in if you just got flooded in that recent downpour. I can attest that the house I just bought and the house I just sold both took on water.

I don't even want to think of how much of the record colllection just got waterlogged.

My place is dry but many of my neighbors are in a panic right now. All my records, CD's and the PC are on my kitchen table just in case. I'm in Lakeview, it seems people got hit pretty hard.

That was an insane storm!

How long did it last?

I ask because we will probably get it here.

I look forward to my window leaking like a waterfall.

That is the street out front. I spent a half hour clearing out the storm drain, but my neighbors are such litterbugs that it clogged immediately. By the time my wife noticed the damage was already done.

A pal of mine's basement got flooded a couple of years ago in a storm, and the value of the musical equipment he had down there (much of which had been rescued from skips around and about the city) suddenly rocketed as he put in his insurance claim. It worked, too. But his cellar did stink for some time, and he had to junk some loved gear.

I hope your basements and lower floors aren't too badly done by.

Time to go home and start cleaning up. Good luck all..

Hey John. Did you guys have any problem selling your old place with a leaky basement? I assume you had to check YES on the disclosure statement regarding water? What about your new place? Did they disclose that the basement leaked?
