Flooded basement?

Thanks rachael. Some might call it justice, but I am happy to have you in my corner. I am very grateful for the last part.

Mark: Collin would be the guy. I had promised to send him my now ruined Oil Tasters record as soon as I unpacked it. He probably knows my collection better than I do.

You need an adjuster to get what you deserve, but you could start with an appraisal of market value by a buyer from Reckless. I think one of them used to practice in your basement.

Wait...you guys were listening? Did you happen to hear the practice where we showed up, Kip tuned his snare for 3 hours and then we left without Jay or I playing a note?

EXACTLY what I was thinking.

He keeps begging me for the Fix 45's I have. He knows his way around my collection pretty good as well.

Yeah, even the ones in bags all took on water. I have 5 good boxes left. I have no brought myself to open them, cause I know it is all going to be the stuff I would have gladly sacrificed to save my Rezillos collections or something. I had 5 copies of the Cruising soundtrack and more Velvet Underground bootlegs than anyone I know. The sleeves are already melting under their own weight.

John,

Holy fucking suck.

I can't even imagine.

I'm so, so sorry this happened.

If any salvage at all is possible for even some of the books and records that are just damp, place them vertically somewhat spaced out (open the bindings of books, but not the pages) and dehumidify and lower the temperature in a room ~70 degrees. Remove from plastic sleeves if you can to aid in drying. They will always be warp-y and fluffier, but this works.

Then:

Sue the clouds.

I'm glad your art made it out.

Mark, this "Collin" person doesn't need those Fix 45's. I need those Fix 45's.

I was afraid your insurance company would say that.

I'm glad to hear your singles weren't messed up at least.

The tips on drying out what's salvageable should help John.

Holy shit. Flooded basements suck. Luckily, I escaped with only a little water getting into the basement and nothing was ruined. So sorry to hear about your record collection and books.

BTW- the Tribune is reporting that another similar storm might be heading our way late afternoon.
