Sister, I went
over there (jabs westward), and many of the bars were serving Bass, and Sam Smith's from
Tadcaster, as if it were rare, premium beer from strange lands.
Folks, Sam Smith's is brewed about ten miles from here, and a pint in town will cost me £1.50 - that's roughly 75c. It's good stuff.
And I'll sound like a dick for saying this but over here, noone calls Newcastle Brown Ale, 'Newcastle'. It's 'Brown Ale', or just 'Brown' - this latter could get confusing, I realise. In Newcastle itself, you'd ask for 'a bottle of Dog'. I don't know why.
Sorry for the parochialising, I'm truly glad you all appreciate these fine beers.
