I don't mean to ruin your fantasy, but 95% of people in rock bands are complete dorks. Dorks are obsessed about every aspect of a particular subject. Look at some of those guitar geeks, they'll go all day boring you on the details of their fuzz and delay pedals. And no one cares, save for other dorks. Have you ever met a recording engineer? Biggest dorks on the planet, next to probably PhD level scientists and mathematicians.
