Towards the end of their set they got into a huge argument right there onstage. Their drummer stalked off in a huff and some other guy filled in for him on the last 2 songs.

.

I saw Flipper play one note per person for 45 minutes before playing there set... the guitarist would play one note... then the bassist would play one note... over and over... and the singer would sing over and over about how they were playing one note because the promoter refused to get them cocaine... this was at the same show the Dwarves broke a microphone over a freind of mines head...

ED Hall were the best band that night...

Whoa. This is totally insane.

The weirdest band I've ever seen was probably The Coughs before they wrote anything melodic. I just remember one of the people in the band running around in this tiny cramped basement with the mouthpiece of a saxophone going "toototoottototottototootootoot!" and slamming into people while nearly choking on the mouthpiece.

I haven't really seen all that many overtly weird bands.

Seeing the Residents (on the tour before that, for the DVD) was definitely one of the strangest things I've seen. To this day, I have no idea if they were actually playing or not.

Yeah, it really didn't matter they were enthralling to watch...

...like when they ran their gear from a generator, and lit a ring of flaming gasoline during that anarchist demonstration, so the cops couldn't stop them for awhile? Or that's the rumor, anyway...

I like Missing Foundation. Wish I had seen them. All I saw was the graffiti, and some wreckage after they played.

An old friend of mine had some demo's and videotapes of a band from Carbondale, IL called 'Spicy Ruggae'. It was a duo...one guy playing toys, and the other playing a ridiculous guitar...that thing looked like the drill from the latest 'Sorority House Driller Killer movie with, like, three effect pedals glued to it. It wasn't exactly the weirdest band, but for that sort of goofy schtick-noise thing, it was pretty goddamn wacked, both visually and sonically.
