Here's another Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet compilation, this time it compiles all their released b-sides, alternate single versions, studio outtakes, and the "Just Married" 7" recorded for the marriage of Jay Mohr of Tar, and distributed solely to attendees of. Also included is the "Reid Does Neil" 7" mentioned in the their C/NC thread here: www.electrical.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php ... ht=shadowy
In that thread is a still-active link to a Chunklet post with two tracks by these guys not included on this compilation. Guess you can't have everything, though it would be easy enough to get these two tracks yourselves and round out this fine collection.
Also of note are the tracks "Tape" and "Vinyl", each one being exclusive to whatever respective format one purchased their "Dim the Lights, Chill the Ham" album on. Not included is "CD", which, when this compilation was originally created, was not yet out-of-print.

2706I'm gonna go through my email tomorrow and delete all the links I posted before I have band practice...so if for some reason you found something that I posted that you wanted and you were tardy in getting a hold of it, it's going down very soon. You can probably PM me in order to get anything reuploaded and sent directly to you in due time (Ed, I'm under stress for a little while, but I'm working on your request).
I just went through the entire thread on Friday...looked at all the dates, and remembered what was going on in my life when I started stalking the thread, and then when I eventually started making public requests...there were a bunch of "mini-generations" of different frequent contributors. So weird...so great. Ant man bee, when I found Expensive Shit, I was really hoping the thread would turn into what it eventually did. Kudos.
The thought also crossed my mind that eventually the thread should be wiped clean (but its history secretly preserved somehow). It was just a thought though...eventually it could attract unwanted attention?...it could be replaced by a new thread with some kind of more subtle title (strictly a thought).
Thanks for everything.

2708Oh shit, forgot about this.
There's also a Canadian film called Double Happiness (1994) that the Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet did the music for. Read about the film here: www.imdb.com/title/tt0109655/
The soundtrack is incredibly hard to find, and for the most part, is sequenced with dialogue excerpts and incidental music alternating. There is one exception where dialogue is appended to the end of a song. For the sake of flow, I've taken the liberty of ommitting the dialogue-only tracks.
This disc, like the other two before it, was prepared almost ten years ago when CDR technology was cutting-edge, so there are some artefacts on the disc in the form of a digital "POP!" a second into a few of the tracks. Pretend you are listening to a record.

I like this movie quite a bit. Starring Sandra Oh and Callum Keith Rennie (one of the coolest Canadidididididans ever.)
