A lot of young filmmakers I met in Europe carried around those Video iPod doohickies and would have pretty faithful copies of their work to show on them.

In other news, the click wheel on my iPod went out over the Winter. I didn't/don't have money for repairs so I just put all the songs I'd want to listen to in a playlist and adjust the volume of individual tracks in iTunes. Kind of a pain in the ass, but it still beats fucking around with a tape deck/disc man.

Excellent sound quality, looks great, the film and movie playback is flawless, stores my pictures too. Love it, scarcely ever turn the bloody thing off anymore. I know it's a flawed product but I love it so much, I can't vote CRAP.

I just got one of these a few months ago myself. I love it, though I hardly use it for anything but music. I really wanted to avoid getting another iPod based on my previous experiences, but the video iPods seem like they are of much higher quality than any of the previous generations. I've had no problems in the six months I've had it, which is longer than any of its predecessors lasted.

yeah, it still just music. I miss taking apart tapes and repairing them with sellotape, making weird compilations for friends, working everything out into 'sides' and trying to get it all to fit on. its not the same with ones and zeros

Holy shit. My roommate and i just tried this with my ipod that has been conked out of commission since Wednesday with the sad ipod icon, and it totally worked. Salut, tommydski, for bringing this to our attention! And salut, Mandroid, for sending me to this thread when i was bitching about it!
