He's gonna play the Liquid Swords album! How can you not want to see that?

W3rd. There's been a few people express disintrest towards the GZA in this thread. You crazy. I've said it before on here, but I would love to see the GZA rock the mic for Slint. Think about it.

I live in a castle
I am a prince
I'm on a mission, that niggaz say is impossible
On days I try
To please my queen
Soon as I start to smile
With the impact of roundhouse kicks from black belts
that attack, the mic-fones like cyclones or typhoon
I represent from midnight to high noon
HELLO!

I was near the board, too, and I thought it sounded great. really controlled and oddly compressed, but crystalline, and they def. brought it.

I couldn't tell if slint or GZA was more boring. you people have lousy taste in music.

at one point, I thought slint had stopped, and they had started between band music, but no. they're just boring. I was actively ignoring how bad GZA sounded.

boo.

Beer lines were huge but moved quickly. For all the people there it never felt overwhelmingly crowded or out of hand. Everyone was nice and polite about their movements. We got in and out pretty easily and parked a block away.

Slint sounded just like the record soundwise and performance wise. I had never seen them before so that was nice.

I was talking with friends for most of GZA's set but I liked that he invited the crowd back to the Funky Buddha Lounge for his "official" afterparty.

Sonic Youth was fine and good. Just what I expected. But you had to be directly in front of them to hear. At first we were off to stage right and it just sounded like monitors but when we moved back and center we could hear just fine. Clear but quiet which I am fine with.

Got to meet bfields, Dr. Awkward and Dr. Awkward's friend whose name here on the board escapes me right now.

Overall not crap, especially for an outdoor festival. I enjoyed myself.
