They're playing at Club Midway on Ave. B between 2nd and 3rd on Friday night. Weedeater fans are open, loving people with a range of footwear. They're more likely to shun you for not being a fellow alcoholic and thinking you're all better than us for not drooling on your own shirt and stuff.

As much as I loved the spectacle, I'm glad Dixie Dave is puking onstage less frequently.

Dammit, Fridays are work nights, unless they go on after 10:30 in which case...

Yes, I'll have to say last night had some good people there. The Weedeater guys were really nice and they love their beer. (They have stickers on their amps that say Beer Wolf.) There was even a guy in a jump suit who looked like he was gonna start break dancing at any moment. But this is Chicago not NC, so I was wondering if this was a fluke.

But there was a strange amount of love going on at that show. One older gentlemen tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Hi, you look very familiar, you come in to my bar often, don't you?" Funny, because I couldn't place him at first, but yes, he runs a bar I frequent and we got to talking after years of him serving me beer.

These guys accidentally bumped into my friend. He turned to them and said, "You wanna fight?" then he started laughing with them. It was great. Everyone was in such a great mood, which is odd if you consider the brutality of the music. Dixie knows how to make people feel comfortable. He had a really sarcastic, funny attitude. Best part of the show was before they started, he says in his growly voice, "Hi! We suck!" Then Keko hit the drums and the roof fell down.
